Weekend Wrap Up

Firstly, Happy Father’s Day. Every year I am thankful that my father is still here. For those of you who don't know, my dad is not in good health. I love him very much and when I think that any day I could lose him it breaks my heart. I know there are many people out there who have already lost their father and you are in my thoughts on this day as well. Even if you don’t always get along with your parents, you should let them know you appreciate them, not just on arbitrary holidays like today, but every day. My father taught me many things, some directly, some indirectly. And some that my friends wish he would not have taught me, like how I drive. (You’re all just jealous that you don’t have the potential to be stunt car drivers or drift racers!)

I had taken a day from work Friday to get many things done so going back to work tomorrow will be tough. I do feel accomplished this weekend though. I had good food with friends, and got a lot done.

When I took a break from making food and working on getting motivated to get more things done yesterday, I took some peeks at Etsy. My first target while I meandered around the site was of course aprons. Yesterday I wore a gray shirt over a black cami and realized that none of my aprons looked good with it. So I came across this beauty:

Aprons by Vittoria

Most definitely out of my price range for an apron, but I LOVE it. I really wish I had the patience to learn to sew like my mother says I should. Because my first project would be an apron like this. Would someone like to make a trade? I will give you my ADD if you will give me amazing sewing skills and patience. I suppose I need a sewing machine too.

I wanted to get a cute hairpiece (preferably with a feather) in bright blue/turquoise to wear with my flapper-style dress and coordinating tights, so I wandered around Etsy for that too. I came across this shop.

Pegasus Maiden

I have determined that I am either going to make my own, or, if my mother gives me the gift card she won for Charming Charlie (as she is not one to buy from there) I found one there that would work.

I found myself looking at Victorian dresses multiple days throughout the week. Chris and I have been watching a new favorite anime series called Gosick which takes place in 1924. The main female character, Victorique, has the most stunning dresses. Of course looking on Etsy, most Victorian wear is pricey and/or steampunk. Which I’m fine with, except that I want it and definitely can’t have it.

Here are some pictures of Victorique and her wonderful clothes. Chris is thoroughly enjoying the series and her clothes. He probably is a bigger fan than I am!
