Quick Post: Finds & Designs and this weekend

This is the post I was going to post maybe two weeks ago. Finds and Designs had a moving sale because they are moving to the Heritage Village shops. You should visit them to support them when they re-open on November 22nd.
They have posted a few sneak peeks of new items including a fantastic cooking set.

Here is what I snagged the other day though:

The coat (which is red, unlike what this picture says) is lightweight and will be perfect for a chilly early spring day and fall. If I can just get the lovely vintage smell out of it. I’ve put it outside, used a hand steamer, and sprayed it with some smelly good stuff. So far, it’s still pretty stinky
. I broke down the other day and since it is in pretty sturdy condition, washed it and used some of those unstoppable lavender balls. It is getting better. Some more outside time and maybe another wash and I might have a decent smelling coat.

The black hat is precious and I had looked at it on numerous occasions. I decided I needed to get it before it was gone so I did, and have subsequently worn it a couple times out and about.

The pink fascinator-type headpiece is something that I’m not quite sure on. I’ve put it on a few times and it honestly looks a bit silly on me. I’m determined to wear it sometime though!
I wrote another short blog at work today (It's slow season for accounting) that I will type and post once I have the pictures ready.

I am really looking forward to this weekend, I have some great plans and am very excited for some things.

Week in Review-B/C I didn't post any... Part 1

I'm a bad blogger. Not only am I uninteresting, but I didn't post this whole week. What was that whole schedule thing?? I have excuses though. Er, reasoning? Something about being busy (a.k.a. playing World of Warcraft) and also a picnic-type birthday party where we had lively discussions about praying mantis love-making/eating habits among other things, and I tried hummus (yum!).

Saturday I hit up Finds & Designs and Simply Whisk with miss Nikki and we tried to visit another place where we haven't been (Mug & Pia), but the parking was non-existent and the sky was preparing to open up into a 4 hour straight downpour. Next Time!

I did buy something I've been wanting at Simply Whisk since I first entered the store.

Rainbow pasta. Absolutely precious, I hate the thought of eating it. I may keep it for decorative purposes in a glass vase (when I find one with a lid I like) until I decide to finally cook and serve it.

At Finds and Designs, after I drooled over their furniture and a skirt that was too small for me, I picked up this Japanese hat which I will most likely hang from the ceiling in the guest bedroom.

Today we visit Borders which as most likely everyone knows, is going out of business. I'm not much of a reader, but it's still a little sad to think it's going to be gone. Mostly because Seattle's Best has gone with it and that means no more Cookies 'n' Creme Javakula for me.

I did pick up a few things...

...an Arina Tanemura art book (one my favorite artists-Full Moon wo Sagashite & Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, etc.).

... Panic! At the Disco Vices & Virtues

...The Divine Comedy & a cheapo copy of Beowulf.

When I look at them like this... I feel like they don't really go together...

I'm gonna post to blogs back to back to make up for the lack thereof this week.

Coffee Day

Even though it was coffee day... I did not obtain enough to keep me going. I took the day off work to get errands done as well as prepare for the busy weekend.

I started off my day great as my husband brought me breakfast in bed! Scrambled eggs. These came with the disclaimer "Those were the last of the eggs." And thus I added them to my grocery list!

We got me some coffee, grabbed my mother's vehicle and he followed me to the car dealership so we could get my car fixed. On the way home we changed our address with Comcast (which took 5 seconds and yet we couldn't do it by phone or online...), the courthouse to pay taxes (expensive!) and a quick swing by Finds & Designs because Chris had never been there and well... I was right by it! I can't pass it up! They had just gotten in new clothes including an adorable A line dress that made me want to rush and get surgery so I could squeeze myself into it. I don't know what size it was but it looked pretty tiny. It was a bight yellow with a white petal collar. (Like the one below). So Cute.

After all the errands were done that involved my husband, I went grocery shopping, got our comforters washed, headed back down town to get my car and then off to the church for a big "block party" at which involved 2 hours of non-stop face painting.

Before I headed to the block party though... I swung back by Finds and Designs and picked up an item that I have been wanting since I first stepped foot in that store. (My friend Nikki will ask if its the Fondue Set since last time I said I would get it if it were still there... but... No.)

I got my Indiana Jones hat! I was going to be a gypsy for Halloween this year. But I think I have changed my mind and have decided to be a female version of Indiana Jones. I already have a whip from last year and now I have my super-fantastic hat.

I may be so exhausted I can't move, but I am still overjoyed with my hat!

Tomorrow is a little get together that I am preparing food for so I have been taking care of that in between. Still lots more to go. Whew!
