Fall Fest Fun

This weekend the area was packed with festivals and celebrations. While I wanted to hit up both Chili fest, I opted to spend a girl date with Nikki and grab chili at Panera instead followed by an evening with my husband.

Friday, however, we did go to Fall Fest. This festival (previously called October fest, but is no longer held in October thus the name change) used to be crafts and a carnival.
Now it is a carnival and some crafts, but mostly things that are not nearly as enjoyable. Except for fair food. MMmmmm

For those of you who know Lissa, she is a professional eater I believe. Where it goes I don't know, because she can eat for all eternity I believe and never changes in pant size. I'm jealous. According to her, she has to fill up her entire body and not just her stomach, also, her method of exercising is sitting on the couch eating Doritos. I think I have been misinformed how this weight loss thing works.

2 Slices of Pizza, Snow cone, corn dog, milkshake and some of my funnel cake. Where does it all go?!

Lissa and I both tried our hand at darts. She won a dolphin.

I on the other hand, almost took out the carnie and Nikki with one dart after missing multiple times and opted to let Chris take over. Thanks to his mad dart throwing skills I obtained a Care Bear.

Jess and Chris were able to hang as well prior to going to a party. Nikki was also there, but every photo I took was blurry for some reason, possibly due to her dodging the camera. I believe she has more points in dodge than the average tank class...

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I've posted. But it's been an even longer time since I've seen my friend who visited last month and it was the first time meeting another friend face to face.

This was our first time having house guests and I was very paranoid about the house being clean and having everything they could need. I hope it turned out okay! It was a big eye-opener as it has always been just myself or me and another person in a living area. The garbage and dishes doubled and I'm still getting caught up on laundry, but after having a non-stop August and a stressful time at work this week. I lack all motivation to really do much of anything.

My Sunday School class decided to have a party at the Pottery Place so the 4 of us went to paint again.

Chris made a treasure chest box (and was very meticulous.... we were there 3 hours!):

Andy made a giant mug and Sarah made a cute face with seashells.

I made a mug because that was the whole point of our class going. We have coffee every Sunday morning and we drink out of disposable cups, so we decided to Go Green and make mugs.
Oh yea... I have to throw this in for a few people "Booch".

My fantastic friend Lissa works at the Pottery Place too. We pay her in cupcakes. And she eats them whole. Mmmmm!!!

"How can I enjoy this cupcake with a mug in my face?"

We spent a lot of time relaxing at home, playing games, and lots of Andy team-killing me in Halo Reach.

We played Apples to Apples (the greatest game of all time) and Cranium.
There was a card that demanded these two crab walk with a ball on their stomach down the hall. It actually only called for one person to do it, but Andy opted to turn it into a demolition derby about 1/2 way down the hall.

Hopefully we will get to see them again soon and maybe be able to visit them and other friends in NY. Oh how I miss it there....

I'm glad they were able to come and visit and I hope they had a good time. Xerxes misses the extra bodies in the house too I think.

Busy Week, with more Busy weeks to come!

Oh look! It’s that girl that doesn’t post when she says she’s gonna.
I have a valid reason this time (mostly). [I'll be posting 2x in a row to make up for it!]
I have been spending all my week running around like a crazy getting ready for a Pepper Pod Jewelry party this weekend. My best friend from Indy came in and we gathered with the rest of our friends to enjoy and Ice Cream Social themed party. Nikki and I ran around like lunatics getting things ready and making centerpieces for the tables. While I had lots of notes and planning done ahead of time, I was still incredibly stressed out.
And after all the prep and planning and stres... in the end, I realized I had not taken any photos!!! Seriously?!
The only photos I got were of the centerpieces for the tables.
I got the idea from the Hostess from the Mostess, and even though ours didn't look just like hers, I think they turned out great and appreciate Nikki for all her help over the week.
Here was the menu:
· veggies in ice cream cones
· tortillas and pita bread with hummus
· strawberries with strawberry cream cheese
· orange sherbet orange bowls (orange sherbet in hollowed out oranges)
· sandwiches
· mini banana split bites (you can find out how to make them here: Baker’s Royale)
Overall, it seems like a success. There was an average amount of Pepper Pod jewelry sales and I made out like a bandit with 2 necklaces and a headband that are fabulous!
Love them!!

Sunday was packed as well... More in the next post!
