Chicago-It's a trilogy!
So day 3 (Friday) I knew would be my last chance to really get out and see things. Because Saturday is our super long day (gotta be at the registration desk by 6:30 and have to stay through till about 6:30 or so).
I had made a list of stores I wanted to see while I was there. Turned out they were all so far away from each other and almost all closed at 7pm (and I would not be done till 5pm). I made a command decision and we ended up going to the one store which we knew its exact location as we had stumbled upon it the year before: Hazel.
This store is fantastic. I love everything about it. Last year, Chris snatched up a hat (which he wears all the time). This year I bought a couple things (I easily could have gone nuts and spent our entire bank account...).
I got a new apron (because I clearly do not have enough...)
And I got a cute Momiji message doll.
Upon the staff's recommendations, we headed up to Lincoln Square. I wish we would have gotten there earlier to see more of the stores. There was something for everyone and it was simply amazing. We only got to visit one store, Eclecticity, which is very unique with everything from antiques, to silly tarot cards, to handmade purses, to charms and fortune telling devices and old books, and, well... way too much to list. And an adorable cat and dog lounging about.
For dinner, we went to Costello's. We wanted to try both the Red Skinned mashed potatoes and the Chipolte mac n' cheese. So we each got one and shared. Both were delicious, but the mac n cheese did open up my sinuses and it felt like it was burning me from the inside out. So hot... so scrumptious. So worth it.
Well, we're home now and finally catching up on laundry and some rest. I look forward to sleeping in a bit Saturday, but have lots to do to prepare for guests coming in next week.
Next time: I will post my new bed set and the story behind it.
