Chicago Part Deux!

On our second day in Chicago, we decided to take the journey to Navy Pier. After talking with the CTA lady while I got our transit ticket, Chris said the best option would be to take a red line (which didn't leave out of our closest station). So we departed the station and after fiddling around on his phone. We agreed to take the long walk there instead for exercise. Just an FYI, Navy Pier is over 2.5 miles from Merchandise Mart by the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza. So wear your walking shoes!

It was a long walk, but well worth it. We took in the sites, like the House of Blues and the Trump tower. (Below)

I don't recommend looking up at the top while walking. You should come to a full and complete stop, especially when walking miles on an empty stomach. Ugh.

By the time we made our hike to Navy Pier it was getting dark and we had lost our appetite. So we walked around a bit and checked out only about 1/2 of what was there.

Though they did have two ships on display that only happened to be there that week.

Chris was thrilled to check them out. I had a sit down after looking, he was reading the huge signs of information while I took a break.

No we didn't ride the Ferris wheel. Why? Because Chris is most definitely afraid of heights. Despite what he says.

We took a photo in a photobooth while walking around the various shops then ate dinner at the Twisted Lizard who has incredibly warm hot sauce! It's delicious though. Yum! Afterwards I grabbed a very satisfying churro while we made our way to grab tickets for the water taxi.

We took a watertaxi because it was getting even later and by the time we made that long hike back, it would have been super late and I had to work early in the morning.

Fortunately we got on the last one of the evening. The view, is fantastic! If you go to Chicago, you should try to take one somewhere.

It didn't take us all the way back to our destination, but it cut off some time for us.
When we got off and made our way back up to the street, we were shortly after greeted by this:

Oh hi Marilyn. O.o

Finally back to our room, I watched TV till I passed out.

But Wait! There's more!
