The Bedroom

Until the day that you move out from under of your parents' roof, your bedroom is often your sanctuary. It is the one place that you (hopefully) can have some peace and quiet and freedom to do as you please (within reason).
I discovered quickly that once I began to live on my own, the bedroom was no longer a sanctuary and I was rarely there. In my first apartment I had roommates so it was still my 'quiet' place, but after that I found I rarely spent time in the bedroom of my other apartments and our current house. Because, hey, I have my own home, it is mine and I don't have to share it (unless you count my husband).

After this weekend though I feel like I have a new connection to the room. I spent my 3-day weekend painting and decorating and made the room a lot more enjoyable. So I hope to visit it more often with a magazine in hand or just to get some tranquility.

Previously brown and rusty it was a spontaneous, I still have raspberry spray paint leftover.

Hat rack, cause we don't use it for coats...

Xerxes modeling on the nightstands that were light brown and one of them had a nice big burn mark on it.

Bedroom as it stands (Still need to update dressers):

Now to make the rest of the house feel good.

I also threw together the extra flowers I bought for the birdcage in this cake stand.
